Chill on the doom-scrolling for a little while, it’s time to look at the brighter side of life!
This week’s Fuck Yeah Friday! zine falls during a full moon and Friday the 13th. How lucky for all of us!
Speaking of lucky, did you know that we’re getting a Spaceballs 2?!
A while back we touched on the history and importance of clowns and with the upcoming protests happening around the US on Saturday, June 14, just remember to bring more love and laughter to the occasion. Civil disobedience is the way to go, and seriously, safety first.
*Today’s FYF! zine is dedicated to the musical achievements of Sly Stone, Brian Wilson, and Douglas McCarthy.
Dig This
Losing Brian Wilson and Sly Stone back to back is a gut-punch for music lovers, but I think it’s important for us to be thankful that we lived at the same time as these geniuses who inspired so much amazing music though the years.
Speaking of being inspired by great music, my buddy Danny Panice, aka Rainbow Bridge Vibratory Sound/Color Experiment has a new album out today that has a song dedicated to this fine zine! Give it a listen here.
It’s Bonnaroo time and you can follow along thanks to the Hulu livestream. I love livestream festival coverage so much! King Gizzard plays today-Sunday, so be sure to catch their set, among others. Perfect thing to do while you’re lazing around the house before and after the protest!
The Cure’s “Mixes of a Lost World” rolled out today. Be sure to give the Mogwai version a listen.
Side-note, Phish summer tour starts 6/20 and there are creative ways to watch those streams for free if you’re not going to be at all of the shows.
*Probably not one of most people’s favorite Beach Boys songs, but I think it’s so good.
Cuteness Overload
This week’s cuteness overload is actually just fucking RAD and a long time coming. Check out the first adaptive skate park for blind skaters, made by Dan Mancina.
I had a tough week preparing for multiple interviews, so my apologies for the extremely short FYF! zine. Enjoy the music I’ve shared here, BE SAFE if you’re going to be politically active this weekend, and try to bring joy to someone.
Todays music fits my needs perfectly. Thanks for the music!
